Paul and Lisa O Gara immigrated from England to the Maple Ridge area 15 years ago, in 1992. Paul worked as a heavy duty diesel mechanic, as he had in England, and Lisa worked a variety of jobs including mail delivery person.

After several years working here as a mechanic, Paul soon realized that there was an overwhelming need for good diesel mechanics in the area and began working out of his workshop on a part time basis. Within a few years Paul became so busy that he decided to go out on his own and started Diesel Auto Services in 1998. A few years later he moved to a bigger location, which is the Company's current location at 11517 Kingston Street.

The Company was incorporated in 2001 under the name of 'North American Diesel Auto Services' but kept the trading name of Diesel Auto Services as it is known today.

There was such a demand for diesel mechanical work he was able to employ 4 mechanics as well as himself and had Lisa working fulltime looking after the office as the Company's bookkeeper and office manager.

Soon the need for even more space was realized and when the shop next door became available Paul snapped it up, doubling the Company's service capacity.

Today, though Paul and Lisa O'Gara no longer own Diesel Auto Services the new owner Rob Spiden continues to operate the company according to the same exacting standards set out by its founders. The focus is customer service with the highest level of quality workmanship possible in the auto and truck repair industry.
